The Initiative
Learn about the Acacia Initiative — its mission, history, and vision for the Judgment Economy.
The Core Argument
The Acacia Initiative was founded to address a fundamental shift: intelligence is becoming abundant, and judgment is becoming the constraint. We exist to build the infrastructure that the Judgment Economy requires.
The Acacia Initiative is a public-interest effort that brings together research, standards development, training, and ecosystem coordination. It is designed to be open, collaborative, and grounded in evidence.
We are building the institutional infrastructure for the Judgment Era.
This includes ContextOS, the Acacia Trust, and the wider ecosystem of stakeholders working together to support good judgment at scale.
Our Mission
The purpose that drives our work.
To build the institutional infrastructure that enables good judgment at scale in the age of AI.
This mission is built on three pillars:
Research
To understand judgment, context, and accountability in the age of AI. To generate evidence and insights that inform practice.
Standards
To develop and advocate for standards that support good judgment, accountability, and trust. To enable interoperability and quality.
Infrastructure
To build the systems, tools, and institutions that enable judgment at scale. To make good judgment practical and accessible.
Our Vision
The future we are working toward.
We envision a world where:
Judgment is supported
Institutions have the systems, standards, and tools they need to exercise good judgment. Judgment is not left to intuition alone.
Accountability is preserved
Human accountability is maintained in the age of AI. Decisions are transparent, traceable, and defensible.
Trust is built
Trust is the foundation of the Judgment Economy. Trust infrastructure enables value to move between people, institutions, and systems.
Expertise is preserved
Genuine expertise is valued and preserved. The capacity for judgment is developed and maintained.
The Acacia perspective:
The Judgment Economy is not inevitable. It is a choice. We are working toward a future where judgment is supported, accountability is preserved, trust is built, and expertise is valued.
