About

Learn about the Acacia Initiative — the people, the mission, and the approach behind the Judgment Economy.

The Core Argument

The Acacia Initiative is a response to a fundamental shift in the economy: intelligence is becoming abundant, and judgment is becoming the constraint.

The Acacia Initiative is a public-interest effort to build the institutional infrastructure that the Judgment Economy requires. It combines research, standards development, training, and ecosystem coordination to support good judgment at scale.

We are not a commercial venture.

We are a public-interest initiative dedicated to the development of trust infrastructure for the Judgment Era. Our work is open, collaborative, and grounded in evidence.

What We Do

The Acacia Initiative works across four interconnected areas.

Research

We conduct and coordinate research on judgment, context, and accountability in the age of AI. Our research programme is open, collaborative, and grounded in evidence.

Standards Development

We develop and advocate for standards that support good judgment, accountability, and trust. These standards enable interoperability and quality.

Training and Education

We build the capacity for judgment through training, education, and professional development. We equip practitioners with the skills and frameworks they need.

Ecosystem Coordination

We coordinate the ecosystem of stakeholders — public institutions, private enterprises, research bodies, and civil society — working together to build the Judgment Economy.

Our Values

The principles that guide our work.

Human Accountability

Humans must remain accountable for decisions. Accountability cannot be automated or outsourced.

Evidence Before Certainty

Decisions must be based on reliable evidence, not assumptions or guesses. Certainty must be earned.

Context Before Generation

Understanding the situation must come before producing answers. Context is the foundation of judgment.

Transparency and Traceability

Decisions must be transparent and traceable. The basis of every decision should be clear and defensible.
