The Core Argument
The Acacia Initiative is a work in progress. There is much we do not know — and these open research questions guide our next steps.
We have explored the Judgment Economy, Trust Infrastructure, the Context Problem, and the Friction Problem. We have built models, developed tools, and conducted research.
But we have not solved everything. There are many open questions — and they guide our work.

What we still need to learn.
1. How does judgment scale?
We have shown that judgment can be supported and improved in specific contexts. But how does it scale across organisations, sectors, and systems? What are the limits of scalability?
2. What is the optimal role of AI?
We know that AI is a tool, not a decision-maker. But what is the optimal role for AI in supporting judgment? How should AI and humans work together?
3. How do we measure judgment?
We have qualitative evidence that judgment improves with structure and support. But how do we measure judgment quantitatively? What are the metrics of good judgment?
4. What are the governance requirements?
Trust infrastructure requires governance. But what are the appropriate governance structures? Who should govern? How should accountability be maintained?
5. How does context transfer?
Context is essential to judgment. But how does context transfer between situations? How do we make context portable and reusable?
6. How do we build judgment capability?
We know that judgment can be supported and improved. But how do we build judgment capability at scale? What are the most effective training and development approaches?

How should trust infrastructure be governed? We are researching governance models that ensure accountability, legitimacy, and sustainability.
